After Tea Joint House Blues CD
Musical evolution was in the air at the end of the ’60s, as groups adapted to survive in an ever-changing rock landscape. Such was the case with After Tea, who shed the colourful petals of their flower pop past to re-emerge as a solid progressive blues rock outfit with their outstanding 1970 album, Joint House Blues.
Finally this overlooked album sees its first official reissue on CD, dynamically remastered from the original master tapes. The CD will be released in a digi pack gatefold sleeve featuring the (restored) spectacular original artwork on the exterior, plus archival photos and liner notes by Mike Stax on the inside. The CD edition includes seven non-LP tracks from 1969-71, including Sunshine Eyes, Think and Sun all from the master tapes, of course.
After Tea was formed in 1967 when four members of the Tee-Set split from singer Peter Tetterroo to start a new band. By 1969 theyd evolved into a powerful underground blues rock outfit featuring lead singer and bassist Polle Eduard (who was interviewed for the liner notes), guitarist Ferry Lever, Ulli Grün on the churning Hammond B3 and Ilja Gort on drums.
